1. To provide expert professional advice on Human Resources issues which fully reflect the Company`s policies and codes of practice and complies with current legislation.
2. Develop relationships with customers by listening and responding to their needs.
3. Manage customer expectations by agreeing realistic deadlines and schedules for completion of work.
4. To be responsible for the management of complex casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability and harassment and discrimination cases.
5. To directly support and advise Senior Managers and Directors with casework, including attendance at gross misconduct and dismissal hearings, and to attend Board Member Appeals and Employment Tribunals when required.
6. To prepare and draft reports and correspondence for managers including capability reports, Compromise Agreements, and statements of case for Board Member Appeals and Employment Tribunals.
7. To be responsible for the management of sickness absence casework, including providing advice and support to managers in respect of short and long term sickness absence and health issues. This includes liaising with the Occupational Health Service for specialist support.
8. To undertake grading assessments in accordance with the Company`s Job Evaluation Scheme, liaising directly with managers and relevant parties.
9. Under the direction of the HR Business Partner, to give advice on the personnel implications of service reviews and reorganisation.
10. Assisting in the supervision and development of team members.
11. Administering and providing advice relating to a variety of issues including resignations, retirements, maternity and exit interviews.
12. Undertaking project work as required, particularly in connection with improving the level of service provided to customers.
13. Responsible for staff consultation and co-ordination of redeployment of displaced employees within the Company, including conducting Skills Audits, ring fenced interviews, protected salary calculations, redundancy calculations and notice.
Assisting in the development and delivery of training courses and briefing sessions where appropriate.
